AAP today expelled its Barnala district chief Gurdip Singh Batth for anti-party activities.

On October 25, Batth filed his nomination papers as an Independent candidate against AAP’s candidate Harinder Singh Dhaliwal for the Barnala Assembly bypoll. Batth said he had been expelled as he sought the ticket to end “parivarvaad” in the party. He said the party had offered him chairmanship of Punjab Mandi Board to withdraw his nomination.
