Rs 69 cr released to paddy farmers in Rupnagar
The Rupnagar administration today said that 800 MT paddy was lifted in a single day in the district and Rs 69.67 crore had been paid to the farmers under paddy procurement so far.
DC Himanshu Jain said that a lot of issues had been resolved and others were being sorted out. “I appeal to all arhtiyas, farmers and mill owners to speed up the process of procurement for the convenience of farmers.”
Presiding over the meeting with senior officials, he instructed the Food & Civil Supply Department as well as purchase agencies to speed up the process of paddy procurement in grain markets of the district.
Around 35,648 MT of paddy has arrived in the grain markets of Rupnagar district and 34,003 metric tons have been purchased by various procurement agencies.
