3 held for stealing cars

The district police today claimed to have busted an inter-district gang of thieves with the arrest of three people. The police recovered five cars from them.

The police said the suspects have been identified as Ajay Kumar, Chirag of Malout, and Vinod of Sriganganagar in Rajasthan. Muktsar Senior Superintendent of Police Tushar Gupta said the suspects had previously been booked in other cases too. The Senior Superintendent of Police said, “All three are out on bail in other cases. One of them has admitted to their gang stealing 26 cars. They used to sell the parts of cars to scrap dealers. We are tightening the noose around scrap dealers, and those found guilty will be taken to task.”

The police said a case against the suspects has been registered at the Malout city police station.
