The police have arrested three alleged drug peddlers and seized nearly 2-kg heroin from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Gurinder Singh, alias Ginder; Gagandeep Singh, alias Gagan; and Baljinder Singh, alias Babbu. They all are residents of Tapiala village falling under the Lopoke police station.
Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said as per the preliminary investigation, the suspects were in contact with Pakistan-based state and non-state actors involved in drug trafficking via drones. Using various social media apps, they coordinated the cross-border smuggling of drugs delivered via drones at designated points. They used to pick up the consignment from there and further supply to different parts of Punjab.
