Abohar: 3 arrested with 2.3 kg heroin

Three persons were held in the Sriganganagar Sector with a heroin consignment, which was supplied via drone from across Pakistan border. They were produced in the court today and sent on seven-day police remand.
Police sources said, a joint team of Circle Inspector Surinder Kumar and CID (Border Intelligence) stopped a car at a naka near the underpass on Gajsinghpur Road yesterday. Three persons travelling in the car, were identified as Jagjit Masih (28) and Patras Singh (25), both residents of Karalian village and Vijay Singh Sunny (18) of Ladhe village at Ajnala tehsil in Amritsar district. As much as 2.325 kg of heroin, smuggled from Pakistan, was recovered from their possession.
Surinder Kumar said preliminary investigation indicated that the fourth co-accused, Jobanjot Singh, also of Ladhe village, had reportedly absconded with part of the heroin consignment but the picture would become clear after interrogating the arrested accused. According to the investigating team, it seemed to be part of the bigger consignment that was recently dropped by the drone.
