3.5 kg heroin, drone seized; two arrested

Sleuths belonging to the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) and BSF troops seized 3.597 kg heroin and a Pakistani drone (hexacopter) from the agricultural fields near Bareke village along the India-Pakistan border.
Following a tip-off, the police arrested Raj Singh, alias Kala, a resident of Churiwala village. After his interrogation, around 3 kg heroin was found in the fields. It was reportedly delivered from the Pakistan side using a drone.
SSP Saumya Mishra said during the preliminary investigation, the accused revealed the name of a forward link. “It came to the fore that Raj Singh had sold drugs to Ramesh Singh, alias Meshu, of Jhugge Kesar Singh Wale (Kunde) village in the Sadar area. Subsequently, Ramesh was nabbed from Jallo ke village and 400 gm heroin seized from him. In all, the police seized 3.597 gm heroin and arrested the duo,” said SSP Mishra.
The accused were booked under Section 21(C) of the NDPS Act besides Sections 10, 11 and 12 of the Aircraft Act at the Sadar police station.
