2 key witnesses skip hearing in Moosewala case

Two key witnesses in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case did not turn up in the court for the second time in Mansa on Friday. The two friends, Gurwinder and Gurpreet, who were with Moosewala in the Thar at the time of his murder, did not appear in the court once again.

Due to the absence of the witnesses, the court has now fixed the next date of hearing on July 26. The court has also asked Moosewala’s father Balkaur Singh to appear as a witness on the next date. The court has directed Moosewala’s lawyers to present Gurwinder Singh and Gurpreet Singh as witnesses.

It had summoned both of them for July 5. They requested exemption from the hearing citing personal reasons. Earlier, they had requested for an exemption from the May 20 hearing on health grounds.

The court, while adjourning the hearing, has reissued summons to the prosecution witnesses for July 26.
