2 attacked at Sangrur hospital

Six persons attacked two youngsters with iron rods at the Sangrur Civil Hospital last night. Manpreet Singh of Benra village and Kulwinder Singh sustained head injuries.

Manpreet said he received a message from his friend to reach the hospital, but as soon as he reached there, six persons attacked him with rods.

Kulwinder said after receiving information about the attack on Manpreet, he went to the hospital. “Soon six attackers attacked both of us with sharp-edged weapons,” Kulwinder said.

The police said the attackers were identified as Akashdeep Singh, Satnam Singh, Kamaldeep Singh, Amanjot Singh, Kuldip Singh and Lovepreet Singh.

It’s a case of an old enmity between both groups, police said, adding that three accused had been nabbed so far. A case has been registered against the accused.
