In the past nine months, the Border Security Force (BSF) has seized 153 Pakistani drones along with 190 kg heroin, 29 weapons and 400 rounds of ammunition along the International Border in Punjab.

The force also apprehended from the border areas 153 individuals, including 25 Pakistani nationals, who were involved in smuggling or infiltration, according to information released on Tuesday.

The BSF has adopted a multi-pronged strategy aimed at dismantling the supply chain of drugs and arms originating from Pakistan. Through enhanced vigilance along the border, the strategic use of cutting-edge technology and close coordination with border communities, the BSF has tightened its grip on those indulging in illegal activities.

The BSF is also actively coordinating with central and state agencies to bolster its efforts to ensure seamless operations in tracking, intercepting and neutralising threats along the border.

Over the past few years, the number of drones being used for cross-border smuggling has multiplied. The BSF has devised protocols to deal with this threat and put in place anti-drone systems to detect and neutralise drones.
