Chandigarh, October 6

The Transport Department on Wednesday impounded 15 buses of private companies for plying without paying tax in the state. Transport Minister Amarinder Singh Raja Warring said during raids in Faridkot, Bathinda, Amritsar and Ludhiana, 15 buses were impounded.

The minister promised a transparent bus time table and tax relief for transporters soon. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
