13-year-old sodomised

A 13-year-old boy was physically abused by a youth, who was in an inebriated condition, under a flyover near Usmankhera village on the Abohar-Sriganganagar road on Sunday evening. The accused was with his three friends.

The victim’s parents said their son had gone on his bicycle to buy something when the accused blocked his way, following which he sodomised him.

After the incident, the victim somehow reached a petrol pump, borrowed someone’s phone and told his family about the incident, following which he was brought home and the village sarpanch was informed about the incident. The victim’s kin admitted him to hospital and informed the police about the crime. A police official, Ranjeet Singh, inspected the spot and recorded the statements of the family. The boy has been medically examined, and a case will be registered on the basis of the medical report. The police said the suspect would be held soon. — OC
