Busting a trans-border drug module, the counter-intelligence (CI) unit of the Punjab Police has seized 10.4 kg of heroin at Sukhewala village in Amritsar district. The two alleged accused, one of them identified as Sukhraj Singh of Tarn Taran, managed to escape in his Scorpio SUV.

However, the team succeeded in seizing drugs concealed in a Maruti Suzuki Baleno. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against Sukhraj and his unknown accomplice, at the State Special Operation Cell. Raids are being conducted to nab them.

“Extensive efforts are being made to apprehend the absconding suspects,” said DGP Gaurav Yadav in his social media handle. The drugs were smuggled from Pakistan with the help of drones.
