10-day training of NCC Air Force cadets at DAVIET
The 10-day camp of the 1 Punjab Air Squadron NCC is underway at DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology.
As many as 500 NCC cadets of junior wing from the border area are participating in the camp. Group Captain and Camp Commandant Manish Kumar said that junior cadets are being taught NCC curriculum and military life. On the seventh day of the camp, a special lecture was organised on the responsibilities of the Air Force, types of fighter aircraft and commissioning methods.
Chief guest Col Vinod Joshi showed two videos on training in armed forces to the Air Force cadets at the beginning of the lecture. Thereafter, special information was provided on various fighter, combat aircraft and helicopters of the Air Force. Col Joshi shared information on various responsibilities of the Air Force with the cadets.
Information was given on various commissions in the Air Force from class 12 to graduation, their written examinations, SSB and medical examinations. Air Force cadets asked curious questions which were answered by the chief guest. Through a catalytic lecture, Col Joshi motivated the cadets to make their career in the Air Force and other defence services. The lecture was attended by Group Captain Manish Kumar, eight Associate NCC Officers and 10 Air Force instructors. The event concluded with the NCC song and chanting of slogan ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. Col Vinod Joshi and Group Captain Manish Kumar had lunch with the Air Force cadets and shared interesting incidents from their
military life.
