Punjab leads in country’s paddy procurement

The highest procurement of paddy in Kharif Marketing Season (2021-22) from farmers has been in Punjab in the country with 1,86,,85,532 MT.
Over 532.86 LMT of paddy has been procured in KMS 2021-22 upto January 9, 2022 in the procuring states.
Till now about 64.07 Lakh farmers have been benefitted with MSP value of Rs. 1,04,441.45 crore.
Besides Punjab, the other states/UTs include Chandigarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal
Releasing the data of paddy procurement , Union Consumers Affairs and Food and Distribution Ministry said that till January 9,2022 about 64.07 Lakh farmers have been benefited with MSP value of Rs. 1,04,441.45 crore.

Haryana: 5530596 (worth Rs 10839.97 Crore)
Benefits: 310083 farmers.
Punjab; procured worth Rs 36623.64 Crore.
Benefits 924299 farmers.
J&K: Procured-40520 MT, worth Rs 79.42
Benefits: 8724 farmers.
Himachal Pradesh: Procured 27628(MT) worth Rs 54.15 crore.
Benefits: 5851 farmers.
Chandigarh: Procured 27286 MT worth Rs 53.48 crore.
Benefits: 1781 farmers.
