Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at the college and Semiconductor Research Centre (SRC) inaugurated a week-long Karyashala (high-end workshop) on ‘Design and Fabrication of Modern Antennas for 5G/6G Wireless Communication’. The workshop was planned in continuation with the 5G use case lab and would provide hands-on training on mm-wave antennas, THz antennas, and CP antennas, among others, and measurement techniques for near-field characteristics by using equipment such as a VNA and spectrum analyser.
PGGCG-42, Chandigarh
PGGCG-42 collaborated with PGGCG-11, Governance College, and Sanjh Jagori (an NGO) to organise ‘One Billion Rising 2024, a movement that aims to end violence against women’. The event featured diverse performances, each echoing the theme of empowerment, resilience and solidarity.
GGDSD College, Chandigarh
A series of events were organised by the college on the 83rd birth anniversary of its former president, Upkar K Sharma. A stone commemorating his life and achievements was inaugurated, and the management announced scholarships in his name for girl students across all institutions, amounting to Rs 30 lakhs annually.
Dev Samaj College of Education, Chandigarh
A placement drive was organised at the college for the students BEd, MEd, PG Diploma in Guidance and Counselling, and PG Diploma in Child and Family Counselling. A total of 10 institutions participated in the drive.
Chandigarh University, Mohali
The 10th Corporate Advisory Board (CAB) Industry-Academia Meet was organised by Chandigarh University with the theme ‘Innovating Together for Achieving Viksit Bharat 2047 Vision’ at its Gharuan campus in Mohali. A total of about 110 representatives from the top global and Indian companies participated in the event.
Panjab University, Chandigarh
Professor Manish Jha from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai delivered the 8th Annual JC Anand Memorial Lecture, organised by the Department of Political Science. His lecture — ‘Populism as Political Practice: Interrogating Social Justice and Social Policies’ — drew an audience comprising students and faculty from different departments of the university.
