Chandigarh, August 21

The Centre for Human Rights and Duties, Panjab University, held its orientation session today by officially inducting its new masters’ batch for the academic session 2024-26. Prof Namita Gupta, Chairperson, Centre for Human Rights and Duties, gave a holistic introduction of the Centre’s academic curriculum, reflecting best practices on field and highlighting the versatile achievements of the department since its inception in 2007.

Punjab Power and PWD Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO was present on the occasion as a guest and delivered a motivational speech. The minister, who is also a PhD student from the same department, emphasised the importance of education, hard work and dedication in achieving success. “Education is a lifelong journey that begins from birth and continues till death,” he said while adding that, “I started my career as a lecturer and it is this passion for learning that has brought me to where I am today.” He stressed that monetary matters play a negligible role in education, and with determination, anyone can acquire skills and knowledge.
