Sangrur, July 5
Well aware about the lack of health facilities in their area, both second and third rank holders in the state want to become doctors. Both Sangrur girls come from farmer families and have achieved success without any extra coaching.
Dilpreet Kaur (644/650) from Guru Teg Bahadur Public Senior Secondary School, Kanjhla, has secured second position in the state while Komalpreet Kaur (642/650) from Bhutal Public Senior Secondary School, Bhutal Kalan, is placed third.
“I usually see the residents of my village struggling to get basic health facilities as there is shortage of doctors. I will become a doctor and serve the residents of my area,” said Dilpreet Kaur while sitting with her parents at her house in Kanjhla village.
Her school authorities told The Tribune that she had been a brilliant student since the start of her studies. “Her father Rabbi Singh is a farmer and runs poultry while his mother Sarbjeet Kaur is a matriculate. But apart from our school staff, her parents have also been supporting her in studies,” said Rishi Sharma, director of school.
Komalpreet belongs to Ghodenab village of district and is a student of Bhutal Kalan school. “We usually see our area residents suffering due to lack of doctors. I want to become a doctor so that I could serve the residents of my area,” said Komalpreet.
