Protest against poor roads

Residents of Jogindernagar in Mandi district yesterday held a protest led by Zila Parishad member Vijay Kumar against the deteriorating condition of infrastructure, including roads, and they being forced to use access routes in the vicinity of the Shanan Power Project. The Punjab State Electricity Board manages this power project.

The protesters submitted a memorandum to Executive Engineer, Shanan Power Project, Manjeet Singh demanding the repair of the dilapidated roads, buildings and also the powerhouse. A copy of the memorandum was also sent to the Chief Minister of Punjab.The Executive Engineer told the protesters that tenders had been issued for the repair work, which would commence soon.
