Promised job in MHRD for son, man cheated of Rs 15L
The Khanna police on Tuesday registered a case against three persons, including a couple, who committed a fraud of Rs 15 lakh with a man by promising him to employ his son in the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
The suspects have been identified as Ajit Singh, his wife Paramjit Kaur, residents of Nand Singh Avenue, here, and Amarjot Singh of Fatehgarh Sahib.
The complainant, Narinder Puri, a resident of Shivaji Park, New Delhi, told the police that as his son was looking for a government job and the three suspects had assured to provide a job in the MHRD, Delhi, and in lieu, they had taken Rs 15 lakh from him. After getting the money, the suspects had failed to provide any job and also refused to return the money.
ASI Sukhwinder Singh said after conducting an inquiry, a case was registered against the trio on Tuesday and further investigation was launched.
Earlier also, such cases have come to the fore in which miscreants have duped people on the pretext of providing government jobs and innocent people have lost lakhs to the fraudsters.
