Project launched to construct 4 bridges over Buddha Nullah
To streamline the movement of traffic, Ludhiana East MLA Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal and Municipal Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal kickstarted a project to construct four bridges (puli) over Buddha Nullah on Friday.
The project is being taken up at a cost of around Rs 8.40 crore and the four bridges (puli) would be constructed at Buddha Nullah points near Mahavir Dyeing, near Manjit Nagar, Radha Swami Satsang Ghar and near Amrit Dharam kanda point.
Participating in the inauguration ceremony, MLA Bhola Grewal and MC chief Dachalwal said that the project will facilitate the residents living in areas falling in the vicinity of Buddha Nullah, especially during the monsoon season. They will not have to take a long detour for crossing the nullah. The officials concerned have been directed to complete the project at the earliest.
MLA Bhola Grewal said that the residents had been demanding the construction of these four bridges (puli) for a long time. The previous governments had only made hollow claims and no work was done at the ground level. After the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) took over the reins and came to power, the MLA said he had taken up the matter with the authorities and the project has now been commenced. A road would also be constructed on the other side of the nullah which will streamline the movement of traffic in the area.
MLA Grewal said the state government is committed to the overall development of the state. Projects worth crores have been completed in Ludhiana East constituency and more projects would be started in the coming days. The focus is on improving infrastructure for facilitating the residents at large, said the MLA.
