Prof Bist felicitated with Lifetime Achievement Award
The Indian Association for the Study of Population has felicitated Prof Narender Bist with the Life Time Achievement Award. He was presented with the award during the 45th annual conference of the association, held at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi from December 12 to 14.
Prof Bist was awarded for being a dedicated advocate for the advancement of population studies, health and development. Prof Bist’s academic journey spans over 35 years of service in the Department of Economics at Himachal Pradesh University, where he retired as the Chairman and Director of the Population Research Centre in June 2015.
His unparalleled expertise and commitment have been instrumental in shaping the field of population studies in India. Prof Bist has contributed significantly as a consultant, researcher and facilitator for numerous prestigious organisations, including the United Nations Development Programme.
