Education involves a right balance of academic and co-curricular activities. How is your institution providing this balance to students?

At DC Montessori School, we meticulously coordinate a wide array of activities on a regular basis. Academically, we conduct four sequential office tests, two term examinations, and a series of mock tests to ensure thorough evaluation. Additionally, we offer specialised support through our dedicated educator and counsellor, who are adept in addressing the needs of students requiring extra assistance. Our curriculum is further enriched by an assortment of extracurricular pursuits, including debates, declamations, extempore speaking, quizzes, excursions, seminars, and workshops, each serving as an integral component of our educational framework.

What are the assessment practices used in your school?

The school offers an impressive array of both indoor and outdoor activities, catering to students in both morning and evening sessions. These include yoga, skating, basketball, cricket, table tennis, chess, badminton, and taekwondo. Such a diverse selection ensures that students can engage in both physical and mental pursuits, fostering holistic development. Whether one is inclined towards the strategic depth of chess, the discipline of taekwondo, or the teamwork involved in basketball and cricket, the school provides ample opportunities for all interests.

NEP-2020 has laid special emphasis on vocational skills and entrepreneurships. How is your school providing these two through curriculum?

Vocational training in schools provides students with practical skills and hands-on experience, preparing them for specific careers and jobs. It improves employability by providing industry-relevant skills and enhances economic growth by addressing skill gaps. The school has provision of short courses, including Financial Literacy, IT, Music, Art and Craft, etc, to cater to their needs.

What measures has the school taken to help students cope with stress and to develop their EQ.

To effectively manage stress and enhance emotional intelligence among students, the teachers provide individualised care for each student. Both special educators and counsellors have distinct schedules dedicated to supporting students who face personal and academic challenges. This structured approach ensures that every student receives the attention they need to navigate stress and develop resilience, contributing positively to their overall well-being and academic success.

What is the motto of your school and how are students being trained to follow it?

The motto of the school, “Love All, Serve All”, finds profound expression through the practices of meditation and the cultivation of moral values. Meditation nurtures inner peace and mindfulness, helping students to connect with their deeper selves and fostering qualities like compassion, empathy, and patience. By embodying these values, students are inspired to act selflessly, prioritising the well-being of others.

As the head of this institution what is your vision and how you are making it a reality?

As the head of the institution, I am dedicated to cultivating a vibrant and supportive environment where both students and teachers thrive. My vision is to ensure that our school is a place of joy and wellness, where mental and physical health are prioritised. Embracing the motto “Together we can make a difference”, I am committed to fostering an atmosphere grounded in love and cooperation. With these principles as our foundation, I am confident that our school will ascend to ever greater heights.
