The Department of Food and Supplies and Consumer Affairs and Legal Metrology, UT, has imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on a firm for covering the declaration on pre-packed commodities by its own maximum retail price (MRP) sticker.
During a checking conducted at commercial establishments across the city recently, a firm was found covering the declarations provided on the pre-packed commodities by its own MRP sticker. A challan of Rs 5,000 was issued to the firm for violating the Packaged Commodities Rules, 2011.
