Pradhans to be felicitated for achieving saturation in departmental schemes: DC
Chamba Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal on Monday said pradhans of the first two gram panchayats to achieve saturation under various departmental schemes would be felicitated and invited as special guests to the Republic Day celebrations in 2025.
He was speaking while presiding over a weekly review meeting to assess the progress of the ongoing developmental projects in the district.
During the meeting Repaswal instructed the District Development Officer to provide detailed information regarding the saturation data from all development blocks under the selected schemes.
He also addressed the need for additional buildings and facilities at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College in Sarol, directing officials to submit a status note on the matter. Furthermore, he issued guidelines to the relevant departments regarding the installation of medical machinery, equipment and a 33 kW electrical connection at the new campus.
To enhance waste management systems, Repaswal urged the Municipal Council Executive Officer to launch a special campaign at the ward level, emphasising community participation. During the meeting, a departmental official reported that hotspot areas were being secured with grills and efforts were being made to collect waste directly from residents' doorsteps.
Additionally, the DC instructed all Block Primary Education Officers to ensure arrangements were in place under the ‘Apna Vidyalaya’ initiative through the respective Sub-Divisional Magistrates.
Repaswal also reviewed ten agenda items, including the Construction and Demolition Waste Disposal site, the indoor sports stadium in Chamba, and the installation of hoardings and signboards at prominent tourist locations in the district.
Attendees at the meeting included Additional District Magistrate Amit Mahra, Assistant Commissioner PP Singh and Deputy Superintendent of Police Jitendra Chaudhary, among others.
