Ludhiana, September 29
A group of persons staged a protest in front of the vehicle in which Kejriwal had reached a hotel in Ludhiana. The protesters raised slogans against Kejriwal, demanding that the AAP supremo should clear his stand on the waters of Punjab. They also criticised Kejriwal for blaming Punjab for stubble burning. The protesters, however, claimed that they are not associated with any political party.
The protesters made an attempt to stop the vehicle of Kejriwal. One of the protesters Rajvir Singh said, “We are protesting as we want to know what is the stand of Arvind Kejriwal on various issues of Punjab. The Delhi Chief Minister should clear his stand on the issues. He is just doing politics for the votes. We would keep staging protests against him till he clears his stand on the issues.”
After protesters made an attempt to stop Kejriwal’s carcade outside Hotel Park Plaza, the Commissioner of Police has ordered a probe in this regard. The Police Commissioner said, “Security arrangements were made under the command of a JCP-rank officer with other officers and sufficient force. It has come to the notice that when the VIP was about to enter the venue, two persons tried to stop the carcade to express their displeasure. Immediately reacting to this, the police removed the intruders and ensured smooth movement of
the VIP.”
The Commissioner of Police directed the JCP, HQ, to look into the matter so that facts are brought on record and necessary action is taken.
