Potholes and politics: BJP targets AAP over Delhi's deteriorating roads
The Delhi unit of the BJP on Thursday launched the ‘Kejriwal ka Bhrastachar ka Gadhon ka Pol Khol’ cut-out campaign at Gol Hatti Chowk at Chandni Chowk to target the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the deteriorating condition of roads in the National Capital.
The Delhi BJP president, Virendra SaChandigarheva, and Chandni Chowk MP Praveen Khandelwal led the campaign. They accused the AAP-led government of corruption and mismanagement.
“We are exposing their lies and corruption. The potholes across Delhi are from 10 years of neglect by the AAP government. Their MLAs demand commissions for road construction, leaving key areas such as Chandni Chowk in a poor state,” said SaChandigarheva. He emphasised the poor road conditions that damaged Delhi's image, particularly in areas frequented by foreign visitors and traders.
Khandelwal also criticised the AAP leadership. He stated, “In the last 10 years, Kejriwal has done nothing for the roads of Delhi and now he is inspecting the very roads he neglected. This is a clear failure of leadership."
The BJP vowed to continue exposing what they called the ‘corruption’ of the AAP government and push for better infrastructure development in the city.
