Potholes a nuisance
The residents of the Greater Faridabad area have been a victim of broken roads and poor civic amenities. The area has a large number of high-rise residential societies. The authorities have grossly failed to provide civic amenities despite the external development charges collected at the time of allotment or sale of residential units. Broken roads, half-developed or ill-built sewage network, missing stormwater drainage, unkempt and sewage waste-laden green belts, poor lighting and no public parks have become the USP of the area. No attention has been paid to the potholes on the main roads. These potholes pose a risk to the lives of commuters and lead to traffic snarls as well. Despite several complaints, residents have not got respite. The authorities concerned should take an action at the earliest. Paras Bhardwaj, Faridabad
Rusted water tank leaking
The water tank near the Ambala Cantt railway station has developed holes big for birds to enter. This tank is leaking and is causing wastage of water. Because the tank is in a poor state, commuters are forced to drink contaminated water at the railway station. How has the tank not attracted the attention of authorities? In view of the public interest, the department concerned should take cognisance of the issue and set things right at the earliest. Gian P Kansal, Ambala Cantt

It has been a litany of woes, misery and anguish for the owners of the retail stores, restaurants, banks and commercial office spaces of the ILD Trade Centre, Sohna Road, Gurugram.
