“The problem of waterlogging in the area was there since I started working 20 years ago due to lack of a proper drainage system. Even a small spell of rainfall leads to accumulation of water on roads and there seems to be no end to the menace,” said Vikram Singh.

“A commercial vehicle today turned turtle due to potholes, which were not visible due to the rainfall in the Trasport Nagar area. Material of some factory was loaded in the vehicle which got wet and the driver has been asked to pay compensation,” he said.

Another transporter from the area said things turn from bad to worse after a small spell of rainfall. “Other parts of the city might be progressing but our condition remains the same. The roads get filled with water after rain, which troubles us,” he said.

The maximum temperature recorded in the city today was 30.6°C while minimum was 24.4°C. As per the PAU forecast, the weather will remain cloudy with the possibility of showers in the next 24 hours.
