Poll Vault: Wedding can wait, not voting

Chandigarh: Sunil Kumar became the centre of attraction at a polling booth in Ladwa when he arrived in his wedding attire to cast his vote before tying the knot. Despite getting late for his own wedding, Sunil remained unfazed, emphasising the importance of voting. “Casting a vote is very important,” he said, sending a message to those who skipped voting to enjoy their weekend.

MP rides horse to vote

Kurukshetra: BJP’s Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal made a grand entrance at the polling booth by riding a horse. Known as an avid polo player, Jindal explained, “Riding a horse is considered auspicious. People ride horses while attending weddings, so I came on a horse for this auspicious task.”

Leading by an example

Jhajjar: Sixty-year-old Kamlesh, a differently abled woman, set an example by being the first voter at Booth No. 79. Assisted by her relatives, Kamlesh urged the youth to follow her lead: “I have come here to cast my vote. I appeal to youngsters to come out quickly and cast their vote.”
