Abohar: Days after a senior RSS activist, Om Parkash Bhukarka, launched a campaign to strengthen his case for the BJP ticket, sitting party MLA Arun Narang has also launched a door-to-door campaign to seek support. Narang faces challenge from Bhukarka, whose supporters are confident that the BJP is going to field him this time in the elections. He belongs to the Aggarwal community. In 2017 polls, the BJP in alliance with the SAD played Arora card to make Arun Narang victorious against three-time Congress legislator Sunil Jakhar. OC
Congress workers resign in Baghapurana
Moga: Miffed at re-allotment of ticket to sitting MLA Darshan Brar in the Baghapurana constituency of Moga district, as many as 20 PCC leaders and workers have resigned from the party. Former PCC general secretary Gurbachan Brar, secretary Bhola Singh Brar and several others quit at Samadh Bhai village, opposing the re-nomination of Brar. They decided not to support him in the Assemly elections. They demanded from the party high command to relook into his candidature. TNS
