Tension prevailed in Nalagarh town today as members of the majority community gheraoed the police station demanding action against a group of persons belonging to a particular community, who had threatened a local youth in the market by brandishing arms yesterday.

The dispute allegedly arose after a social media post demanding an enquiry into the working of a madarsas which was, however, objected to by the members of the other community who started posting inflammatory posts on the social media threatening the local youth.

The police is inquiring into the matter after registering an FIR. The accused were called to the police station today, but the members of the majority community alleged that they continued to receive threats.
