Police probe into commission agent firing case continues, SHO denies receiving threat from terrorist Rinda

Even five days after the firing incident at a commission agent in the Ramdas area, the police are yet to make a breakthrough in the case. Meanwhile, an audio clip, allegedly featuring Pakistan-based terrorist Harwinder Singh Rinda, has gone viral on social media, in which he threatens the SHO of Ramdas police station. However, SHO Avtar Singh denies receiving any such threatening message from Rinda.

“I have not received any audio or video message from Rinda. I don’t know why it has been circulated on social media without verifying its authenticity,” Avtar Singh said.

In the alleged audio clip, Rinda warns the police and the SHO of Ramdas police station to stop providing security to commission agent Surjit Singh, who was shot at by two armed assailants on Saturday evening. Surjit Singh had received a ransom call in April this year, demanding Rs 5 crore in the name of Rinda.

According to Surjit Singh’s complaint, two armed persons with covered faces shot at him when he was closing his shop, injuring him in the hip area. His son Manraj Singh and wife Kuldeep Kaur rushed him to a private hospital, where he received another threatening call from a foreign number.

ASI Mohan Singh, the investigating officer, said there has been no breakthrough in the case so far. The police have registered a case of attempted murder and the Arms Act against two unidentified shooters, and investigation is on.
