Police personnel receive advanced weapons training
Police personnel from various stations, police lines, and other units in Sirsa participated in a seven-day training programme on operating advanced weapons. The training focused on both, handling and maintaining modern firearms, equipping cops with the necessary skills to respond effectively in challenging situations.
Held at the police lines on Barnala Road, the programme aimed to familiarise policemen with sophisticated weapons, including SLRs, pistols and AK-47s. The aim of the training is to ensure that police personnel are well-prepared to use these weapons efficiently in critical situations.
Instructors provided detailed information on the proper operation and care of these weapons, ensuring that each participant gained a thorough understanding of their functionality. The training, organised by the district police, is part of an ongoing initiative to improve the readiness of officers.
Since officers rarely get time for weapons practice during their regular duties, this week-long training also involved sending the trained personnel to the Bhojraj Firing Range in Hisar for live-fire exercises. This helped them solidify their skills and gain confidence in using advanced weapons. This training is part of an ongoing effort to ensure that Sirsa police officers are fully prepared and equipped with the latest weaponry, ready to tackle any potential threats or challenging situations that may arise.
