Panchkula honour killing: Man arrested, minor brother sent to reform home
The Panchkula police have nabbed two persons for killing a man with a sharp-edged weapon in Sector 27 on Friday. The arrested individuals have been identified as Sewa Ram, alias Rocky, and a 16-year-old minor.
Police officials said they managed to solve the suspected honour killing of 22-year-old Binder, a resident of Barwala, after arresting Rocky from Ramgarh, who, along with the minor, had killed the man on the suspicion that he had a relationship with their sister.
Panchkula ACP Arvind Kamboj said the department had received information regarding the body of Binder lying in a park near the AWHO society in Sector 27 on Friday. The police team from Chandimandir station had reached the spot, and they found the body of the deceased lying in a pool of his blood. His body had numerous injury marks with blood oozing out of them. The forensics team had inspected the scene of the crime and the body.
PSI Saurav Rawat, the investigating officer of the case, said the two accused were brothers. As per preliminary investigation, the two had a previous dispute with Binder as they suspected that Binder was in a relationship with their sister. Due to this, the two planned to murder him. They invited Binder to the site on the pretext of celebrating a birthday. The three also consumed alcohol, after which they attacked Binder with a pair of scissors and killed him on the spot. They fled the spot thereafter on foot.
Rawat said the police had arrested Rocky from Ramgarh bus stand as he was trying to flee. The man was sent on a two-day police remand. The police on Tuesday tracked the minor in Sun City near Ramgarh. He was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and sent to a child reform home in Ambala.
