Following the improvement in air quality, the district administration has decided to resume physical classes in all private and government schools in the district from Tuesday.

The decision was taken at a meeting of district officials held at the Mini-Secretariat, in connection with stage-4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). At present, the students are being taught online for the past several days.

“In view of the improvement in the AQI, it has been decided that all schools will now function in physical mode. The district administration is making continuous efforts to improve the air quality further. Water is being sprayed on roads and trees. All types of construction activities are banned in the district,” said Deputy Commissioner Vivek Bharti.

He maintained that heads of all departments concerned had been directed to strictly implement the GRAP guidelines in the district. All SDMs, along with their teams, were monitoring the situation round-the-clock. All works like construction of roads, flyover, over bridge and laying of pipeline in the district have been postponed, he added.
