The Haryana Government has decided to extend the benefit of the State Samman Pension to unemployed widowed or divorced daughters after the death of freedom fighters or their spouse, provided they do not have any other source of income.

The government has amended the guidelines issued on June 12, 2009. Following the death of freedom fighters or their spouse, unemployed unmarried/widowed/divorced daughters and disabled unmarried unemployed sons with a disability of 75 per cent will be eligible for the State Samman Pension.

If there is more than one eligible child, they will receive a proportionate share in the pension.
