Pearl scam victims to stage protest in Delhi on October 17
A meeting of the Insaaf Di Awaaz organisation was held under the leadership of Dr Paramjit Singh Duggal at Gurdwara Sri Guru Ravidas, near Pataka Market, Palahi road. Key attendees included state committee member Yodh Singh Thandi, general secretary, Punjab, and Dalbir Singh Jammu. The meeting focused on strategies to intensify the struggle for the recovery of funds trapped in the Pearl Group and other implicated chit fund companies.
Dr Paramjit said MP Dharamvir Gandhi recently raised the issue in the Parliament, questioning Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman about the return of investors’ money. In her response, the Finance Minister allegedly provided misleading information, claiming that funds were available, but no claims had been submitted. Dr Paramjit countered this, saying the investors’ data was readily accessible online. As a mark of protest, Insaaf Di Awaaz national president Mahinder Pal Singh Dangarh has called for a demonstration at the Ministry of Finance in Delhi on October 17, urging all affected investors to join.
The members at the meeting unanimously agreed to participate in the protest. Dr Paramjit added investors had been struggling for nearly ten years to reclaim their money, with no action from the government, leading to widespread resentment.
He appealed to all affected investors to contact Insaaf Di Awaaz and join the protest in Delhi.
