Chandigarh, November 29

Charanjit Singh Channi and Navjot Singh Sidhu still don’t seem to be on the same page as the PCC chief was conspicuous by his absence at a meeting of party’s block presidents of the Malwa region called at the Chief Minister’s residence here this evening.

Apart from CM Channi, Punjab affairs incharge Harish Chaudhary and Food Supplies Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu attended the meeting. Sidhu, who earlier in the day took on AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal through tweets, was said to be in Patiala.

The meeting had been called to get feedback ahead of the Assembly elections and propagate pro-people decisions being taken by the Congress government. But neither Sidhu nor his working presidents were present at the meeting. During the discussions, some block presidents expressed concern over purported differences between CM Channi and Sidhu over issues that are set to take the centre stage in the elections. Sources said the PCC chief was yet to regularly attend meetings at the Punjab Congress Bhavan.
