Faridkot: Patwari among 3 booked for duping NHAI of Rs 1 crore
Faridkot, August 13
The Vigilance Bureau (VB) has registered a criminal case against a patwari and two other persons for fabricating land revenue records to pocket Rs 1.065 crore compensation from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
The VB has registered a case against Navdeep Singh, a patwari posted at Kishanpura Kalan village, Dilkush Kumari, a resident of Adraman village and Harminder Singh, alias Gagan, a resident of Rasulpur of Moga district, allegedly for conniving with each other to show them as beneficiary in the acquisition of a portion of land by the NHAI to pocket money.
It is alleged the patwari prepared false assessment reports, showing both Dilkush Kumari as owner of government land. The case has been registered under Sections 13(1) (a) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Sections 409, 465, 466, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of the BNS.
As per the FIR, a portion of government land, owned by the Rehabilitation Department of the state government, situated at Adraman village in Moga was wrongly transferred in the name of Dilkush Kumari and a mutation about the change of ownership of this land was entered into the revenue records in her name. — TNS
