The president of the Youth Akali Dal, Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer, hit the campaign trail across different wards on Thursday in support of Shiromani Akali Dal’s (SAD) municipal corporation (MC) candidates. He met with voters, listened to their concerns, and assured them that the party was committed to addressing them.

“As the only regional party genuinely invested in Punjab’s welfare, the Shiromani Akali Dal has consistently prioritised the state’s interests. Unlike other parties like the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Congress, which are controlled from Delhi and focused on pleasing their national leaders, SAD remains committed to addressing Punjab’s unique challenges,” he said.

The leader also assured that Youth Akali Dal workers will be present in large numbers at all polling booths during voting on December 21, adding, “The move aims to ensure that the ruling AAP government does not resort to violent tactics to win the elections.”

“We will not allow the AAP government to destroy the peace and tranquility of Patiala,” he said, adding, “Our workers will be present at all polling booths to ensure that voters can exercise their franchise without fear or intimidation.”

He also slammed the AAP government and local MLAs for “ruining” the democratic process during the filing of nomination papers and demanded that the district administration take immediate action to ensure free and fair elections are held.
