Woman candidate alleges bogus voting

The polling in the district for 288 posts of sarpanches and 939 posts of panches remained peaceful except a few incidents of sloganeering against the high-handedness and allegations of bogus voting by the AAP supporters in connivance with the police and polling staff. The district recorded 67.01 per cent polling. In Khare village, candidates and their supporters raised slogans against MLA Fatehgarh Sahib Lakhbir Singh Rai alleging that bogus votes of migrants were being polled. Jasbir Kaur, a woman candidate, alleged that supplementary voter list of migrant voters was attached with the voter list and after 3 pm a large number of migrant voters were brought to vote. None of them were residents of the village, she alleged. There are 429 posts of sarpanches in the district and 141 had already been elected unopposed, similarly of the 2,477 posts of panches, 1,538 were elected unopposed.
