Woman arrested for abducting 4-year-old
The Fatehgarh Sahib Police have recovered a 4-year-old boy who was abducted from Gurdwara Jyoti Swarup Sahib and arrested a woman in this connection.
SHO Malkiat Singh said in her complaint, Samkali, a resident of Dera Bassi, had said she along with her four-year-old boy Yash had come to Sirhind to meet her sister Pooja. In the evening, Yash and Pooja’s children went to partake of langar at Gurdwara Jyoti Swarup Sahib.
The complainant said when they did not return home, she went to the gurdwara in search of children. Her sister’s kids told her that a middle-aged woman who was wearing yellow clothes took Yash with her on pretext of getting him new clothes from a shop.
Samkali said after she and her sister failed to find the child they reported the matter to the police. The SHO said separate teams were formed to scan the CCTV camera footage in the area. He said in four hours later a police party succeeded in arresting the woman, identified as Jyoti, who was carrying the child. She is a resident of the Pitampura area of Delhi. He said the child was handed over to the family and Jyoti was arrested. The police have registered a case and started investigating the matter.
