Patiala, July 20

Van Mahotsav was celebrated in a unique way at Government High School on the Rajpura- Patiala road. Instead of teachers, each student of Class VIII to X was asked to plant a sapling and told to monitor its growth.

Further, panchayat members of the village were also asked to visit the school and plant a tree. The objective was to make children develop a relation with trees.

“These children will one day leave the school for further education and may also achieve great heights in their career. However, these plants, which will eventually gown into shady trees, will keep their bond intact with the school,” said Naib Singh, principal of the school.
