The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has arrested ASI Amrik Singh, posted at the Patran police station in Patiala district, for accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000.

According to a VB spokesperson, the arrest followed a complaint by Ashok Kumar, a Patran resident, who alleged that ASI Amrik Singh demanded Rs 20,000 to submit a cancellation report in court regarding a case registered against Kumar and his associates.

After verifying the complaint, a VB team laid a trap and caught ASI Amrik Singh accepting the bribe from Kumar in the presence of two official witnesses.
