BJP leader and former Union Minister of State, Preneet Kaur, along with party workers, met Patiala SSP Nanak Singh over violent incidents during the panchayat poll on Tuesday.

Talking to the media, Preneet Kaur said, “Patiala has witnessed an alarming rise in crime and the law and order situation continues to deteriorate. Today, we met Patiala SSP Nanak Singh to express our concern over the issue.”

Preneet Kaur was accompanied by her daughter and BJP state Mahila Mandal chief Jai Inder Kaur.

The former minister said, “The recent incidents of violence, including firing during the panchayat election in Sanaur, indicate the failure of the state government in maintaining peace and security. We demand immediate action against the perpetrators and urge the authorities to take stringent measures to prevent such incidents in the future.”

“Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann holds the home portfolio, yet he has failed to maintain law and order in the state,” Preneet Kaur added.

The BJP leader said as the head of the Home Department, it was Bhagwant Mann’s responsibility to ensure citizen safety, but the escalating violence and crime in Patiala and elsewhere painted a stark picture of his administration’s incompetence.

“The people of Punjab deserve a safe and secure environment and it is the responsibility of the government to ensure that,” said Jai Inder Kaur.

To a query on the MSP hike, Jai Inder Kaur said, “We commend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic MSP hike for rabi Crops, which will greatly benefit farmers across India. This demonstrates the Central Government’s commitment to empowering farmers and boosting rural development.”
