‘Anandotsav 2024’, the 12th annual day of Delhi Public School, Patiala, was organised with zeal and jubilation at the auditorium of the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law today.

Dr Rajan Singla, Principal, Government Medical College, Patiala, was the chief guest at the event. Playway principals Sonia Mehta (Bachpan Play School), Amanpreet Singh (Little Ducklings) and Ritu Sarao (Little Pumpkin) along with Amandeep Garg, a cardiologist from Balaji Heart Institute, were other dignitaries who graced the occasion.

The event commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp, followed by a series of performances, based on the theme of colours. Students of classes III to IX showcased their talents through dance performances and acts.

The audience were enthralled by the performance and confident stage presence of the young ones on significant themes like patriotism, cultural heritage along with global issues such as responsible consumption, climate change, sanitation and water conservation.

The highlight of the function was staging of a William Shakespeare’s classic, The Merchant of Venice, by students of class IX.

Forty-three achievers were honoured during the prize distribution ceremony. Saksham Goyal was recognised for eight years of academic excellence, while Lakshay Jain and Ajinkya Gupta for six. Teachers were felicitated for maintain 100 per cent attendance, producing excellent board results and a few on completing 10 years of service at the institution.

The annual report was read by senior members of the student council — Nehmatjeet Kaur and Jaiveer. Principal Santosh Shukla thanked the parents for gracing the occasion.
