Minister Inderbir Singh Nijjar reviews works on maiden visit to Patiala

The government will take stringent action against anomalies and misappropriation of government funds in relation to the construction of buildings and roads in Patiala. This was stated by Local Government Minister Inderbir Singh Nijjar here today.
Nijjar said the government was carrying out a survey to increase the number of wards in the city before the Municipal Corporation elections.
The minister visited the city for the first time after becoming the minister of Local Government, Parliamentary Affairs, Water and Land Conservation and Administrative Reforms. He was joined by the MLAs of the Patiala City, Patiala Rural and Sanour constituencies. He took stock of various ongoing works in the district. He said the government was planning to enhance the canal-based water supply project to include areas outside Patiala city as well. “We are carrying out a survey to increase the number of wards in relation to the increase in population. Also, the government will take a decision regarding an increase in the number of illegal colonies,” he said.
The minister directed MC officials to start a single-window system to provide various services to the residents. He also asked them to monitor all projects and ensure that there was no delay in the completion of these works.
