MC begins repair of roads dug up for laying pipelines
The repair work on roads, following the installation of pipes for 24/7 canal water supply to Patiala city, has begun in various areas. MC Commissioner Dr Rajat Oberoi said the repair work on roads dug up for laying sewers in colonies would also commence soon.
The MC had been on the receiving end after residents complained that they were living under inhumane conditions, due to the digging of road. Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh and Patiala MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli had also directed the MC to expedite road repair.
Dr Oberoi said repair work on roads behind Central Jail, Ajit Nagar, Lady Fatima School Road, DLF Colony Road, and the stretch from Jhill Road to Kohli Sweets have already started and will be completed soon. He noted that daily reviews were being conducted to ensure progress, and SE-level officials had been tasked with inspecting the quality of material used in the repairs.
