Patiala Heritage Festival ends with packed out show by singer

Renowned Punjabi singer Ranjit Bawa enthralled the audience with his popular songs that left the audience spellbound — during a pop night at the Polo Ground on the concluding day of the Patiala Heritage Festival.
As soon as Bawa arrived on the stage, the audience started cheering for him and dancing to his tunes. The star attraction of the evening entertained the audience for more than two hours with foot-tapping hit numbers: Teri ve driver America wale kithe jandi teri Tankha, Roti khadi aa k nahi kalli maa puchdi, Yari Chandigarh waliye, O Chandigarh waliye ni maan na kari, Laake yaari sadde naal saan na kari.
The chief guest of the event, Member of Parliament, Preneet Kaur, congratulated district administration for successfully organising the Patiala Heritage festival. She said, “Patiala Heritage turned out to be a successful to propagate the rich heritage of the city among youth.” She said the festival was getting popular in the other parts of the country as well. She also added that Patiala was becoming a tourism hub.
Backstage heroes
Behind the successful edition of Patiala Heritage Festival, a team of dedicated officials worked day and night to turn it into a successful event. Starting from Deputy Commissioner, Kumar Amit, to Nodal Officer and Municipal Commissioner, Poonamdeep Kaur, planned and executed Patiala Heritage Festival in an innovated and professional manner. The renowned performers — including Zakir Hussain — were roped in by the organisers, who made the heritage a special one. Moreover, crowd and VVIP movement was smoothly handled by Police — led by SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu and SP headquarters Navneet Bains.
Poonamdeep Kaur, the nodal officer of the heritage festival — main person behind the success — was assisted by Assistant Commissioner, Ismat Vijay Singh and Joint Commissioners Avikesh Gupta and Vishwas.
