The National Theatre Arts Society director duo Padma awardee, Pran and Sunita Sabharwal, in collaboration with Sarbat da Bhala Charitable Trust organised their monthly Garden Natak Mela at the Baradari Gardens here today.

The chief guest on the occasion, Sawraj Singh, along with socialites GS Kakkar, Dharam Pal Singh Chauhan, Hans Raj Singla, Jasbir Singh Oberoi and Pran Sabharwal dedicated the event to the martyrdom month.

Playwright and theatre activist Gursharan Singh's "Kib Koore Tute Pal" directed by Joga Singh Kheeva on the martyrdom of the Sahibazadas and Pandhi Nankanvi's "Lakhi Shah Vanjara" directed by Sunita and Pran on the supreme sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur were among the plays enacted at the mela.

Joga Singh Kheera, Subhash Bhagat, Manisha, Paramjit Kaur, Simranjit Kaur, Shabad, Baljit Chand, Harpal Mann, Sanjeev Kumar, Jaswinder Jassi, Harish Khurana, Iqbal Gajjan and Sitar Mohammad were given cash awards and cheques.
